Why are you running? (Max. 1000 characters) I am running because it is time for change in the union leadership. We need a collective approach that is responsive to the staff that face the day to day operational challenges.
What is your vision for the union? (Max. 1000 characters) I believe in strengthening the bond between members and union membership so they feel connected.
If elected, what are your top 3 priorities that you would focus on to achieve your vision for the WTU? (Max. 1000 characters) Internal communication and support for wtu members
What are your top 3 contract priorities for future negotiations? - having a valid contract - being able to move up on the lift stage on your first year as developing - holding leadership accountable for improving teacher performance
What is the strategy the WTU should take to achieve that vision? WTU needs to have a unified vision and mission. It's important for members to be one band one sound.
If elected, what is your role in achieving that vision? As the VP of Elementary schools I would want to create an internal reporting system such as rate my school culture, and school leadership, help teachers with internal transfers. I would also create a communication log for planned vs actual meetings and keep members abreast about upcoming changes.
If elected, how do you see yourself working with caucuses like DC-CORE? It is possible to have on going collaborations with caucuses like DC- CORE.
